Youth Advocate Teodora Ildefonzo-Olmo to Receive the Second Annual Summer Search Leadership Award

Luncheon event to be held in San Francisco on May 10th, 2007

San Francisco, CA - May 2, 2007 - Born and raised in San Francisco's Visitacion Valley, Teodora Ildefonzo-Olmo can remember growing up with little opportunity for positive things to involve herself with. "I remember going to the playground with my friends where people were doing drugs", said Teodora, "We just didn't have a whole lot of planned activities to go to." Now, while serving as Real Options for City Kids' (ROCK) Middle/High School Program Director, she is helping to provide youth in Visitacion Valley with many positive opportunities that she was never able to experience. For her efforts, Teodora is set to receive the Second Annual Summer Search Leadership Award on May 10th at the 2007 Summer Search San Francisco Leadership Luncheon. This award recognizes Teodora's commitment to reinvesting in her community and the development of its young leaders.

Teodora first became a participant in Summer Search while in high school and quickly gained valuable life lessons that she always looks to today. "Summer Search exposed me to a whole world of opportunity outside of my small neighborhood…it helped to give me a voice", reflected Teodora. At ROCK, she is passionate about shaping the lives of young people through her youth development programs and recognizes the voice that her participants have within them.

The 2007 Summer Search San Francisco Leadership Luncheon will be held from 11:30am-1:30pm at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco on May 10th. For more details, be sure to visit www.summersearch.org.
